Fairbanks to Bellingham Washington
This popular adventure begins in Fairbanks center of Alaska's placer mining country. This scenic Alaska rail route presents thrilling sights from Fairbanks to Denali, Anchorage, and Whittier via the Alaska Railroad. Transferring from the rail belt to the Alaska Marine Highway we will continue by ferry across the Gulf of Alaska, and through the world famous Inside Passage, one of the most sheltered, scenic, waterways in the world.
Calls are made at Juneau- capital city of Alaska, Skagway-reminiscent of her rip roaring gold rush days, Sitka-the former capital of old Russian America with gripping Russian and native history, Petersburg, Wrangell, Ketchikan, and Bellingham WA.

Day 1 Riverboat Discovery Tour
Welcome aboard! Your three-and-a half hour cruise will take you into the heart of Alaska. Alaskan Native guides will take you on a personalized tour of the Chena Indian Village.
El dorado Gold Mine Tour
A trip through Alaska's gold mining history at the El Dorado Gold Mine. Ride the Tanana Valley Railroad for an adventure into the gold fields of the Interior. A two-hour guided tour takes you through a permafrost tunnel where Alaska's history comes alive. Enjoy a walking tour of our mining camp. Meet and talk with Alaska miners as you learn about present day placer mining methods. After a short course in gold mining, grab your own "poke" filled with pay dirt right out of a sluice box and try your hand at panning for gold. Everyone finds gold.

Day 2 The Alaska Railroad ~ Fairbanks to Denali National Park Overnight plus complimentary breakfast included at the Denali Cabins.
Day 3
The Denali Backcountry Adventure
This trip into Denali National Park travels the entire length of the restricted 95-mile Denali Park Road to Kantishna, returning to the Denali Park entrance in the evening by private bus. A trained naturalist Guide/Driver provides natural history interpretation along the way, helping guests search for bears, moose, caribou and other wildlife while pointing out the biology and geology of the region. We stop along the way for photography and take several rest stops where guests can stretch their legs. Snacks, drinks and lunch at the Backcountry lodge is provided.

Day 4 Alaska Railroad~ Denali Park to Anchorage
First Class glass dome car seating for spectacular views, stunning wild and panoramic vistas, guests are showered great food and thought-provoking commentary delivered by life long Alaskan tour Guides.

Day 5 South to Whittier on the Alaska Railroad
Departs 8:15am Arrives 12:40pm. plus a Prince William Sound Glacier Adventure Cruise.
Cruise up to the face of two active tidewater glaciers. View spectacular alpine glaciers and waterfalls. Participate in fun marine experiments. Look at plankton under microscopes and glacier ice up close

Ferry- Alaska Marine Highway M/V Kennicott
Departs Whittier at 7:00pm for a two day cruise across the Gulf of Alaska to Juneau.
Day 6 At Sea - A short stop at the native village of Yakutat
Day 7 Juneau
Alaska's colorful capital and gateway to Glacier Bay National Park. Juneau is squeezed between towering Mr. Juneau and the Gastineau Channel. Government building contrast with the Gold Rush Historic District in the downtown area.

Day 8 Ferry
Alaska Marine Highway M/V Malaspina
Awe-inspiring views of Lynn Canal. Skagway was the jumping-off point for the Chilkoot Trail in gold rush days.Gold and ivory abound in the local shops and the museums are rich in history.

Day 9
The White Pass & Yukon Route ~ Summit Excursion

Day 10 Ferry Alaska Marine Highway M/V Columbia
An evening departure from Skagway with a two hour stop in Haines, famous for its bald eagle nesting grounds and the turn-of-the-century remains of Ford Seward.
Day 11 Port of Call - Sitka
One of the most scenic Southeastern cities, a true Alaskan gem. Island-studded waters, elegant forests, jagged mountains, and the towering Mt. Edgecumbe volcano surround this stunning seaside town. Tour busses are found at the terminal parking lot - be sure to get aboard for a 2-hour tour of downtown Sitka.
Day 12 & 13 Ports of Call - Petersburg, Wrangell, Ketchikan
Petersburg, affectionately know as "Little Norway" with its cultural heritage decorating's on homes and shop fronts.
Wrangell, walk just half a mile from the ferry terminal and along the beach see mysterious petroglyphs at low tide.
Ketchikan, Alaska's southernmost major city, Ketchikan stretches 3 miles along the water front with a business district suspended on pilings above the Tongass Narrow.
Day 14 Bellingham Washington
The M/V Columbia arrives in Bellingham on Friday morning at 8:00AM.
