Homer Fjord Explorer & Gull Island Tour
 Intimate small boast cruising along the breathtaking Fjords of Tutka Bay, Sadie Cove, and Eldridge Pass. The 34-foot, 15 passenger Beowulf can get you up close to the things you want to see. On route, discover Gull Island a small rocky island on the southern shore of Kachemak Bay. More than 16,000 seabirds nest on this natural sanctuary. Gull Island is one of the most viewable seabird colonies in Alaska, and every year thousands of people visit the island by boat to witness the spectacle of nesting seabirds.

Eight different seabird species call Gull Island home during the summer months:

During this 2-3 hour fjord cruise, frequent wildlife encounters include sea-otters, sea-lions, and whales in season. Captain Hopkins's knowledge of the area, it's unique history, and native american culture, make this tour the highlight of any visit to Homer.


The "Beowulf" is a beautiful 34' foot locally built and hand crafted wooden vessel. Made to carry 18 passengers in comfort and safety. The "Beowulf" is USCG inspected, fully equipped with life-rafts and experienced personnel. Departs from the Homer Boat Harbor Ramp #1
